Hey everyone! Hope all of you are doing well! I am going to try this again. I know in my last post I said that I was going to get the blog rolling again, but this time I think I am in a better position to make regular posts. Lots has happened since the last post so lets just dive right in!
As you know, my wife Samantha recently had brain surgery, and I am pleased to say that she is doing great! The surgery was a complete success and the surgeon was able to remove 100% of the tumor. Samantha has made great progress in the last 3 weeks, it is really quite amazing. Sammy does have some short term memory loss and gets tired easily but that is a small price to pay for something that could have yielded far worse results. Samantha is doing so well that she will be starting back at work on a part time basis next week. I am so proud of her.
As for me I am still plugging along with this weight loss malarky! I have held steady at 243lbs. This mean that as of right now I have lost 90.6lbs since October 24th 2011. This past week I have really started getting back into working out again though. I have been hitting the exercise bike like crazy and can now cover a distance of 13 miles in 30 minutes! That is a pretty good clip! I have also started P90X and boy let me tell you, that is hard, but I am enjoying it so far. I just finished day 4 and cannot wait to start again tomorrow. I am also going to restart the C25K program again. It has been a while since I really ran a far distance so I figured it would not hurt.
I just finished day one, and I am happy to say that not only did my new neighbor, Tammy join in, but so did Samantha! They rocked it! I am so proud of both of them. I am going to try and help both of them out as we go through the program again. .
I have also signed up for another race My next 5K will be on Aug 11th. The run is called the watermelon run and it will be held in Rush Springs, OK at 7:30am! I am so excited about it. I really LOVE running and it is still my goal to run in the half marathon next April, so this will go a long way in helping me prepare for it.
Now for the promise again! I am really going to try and update the blog at least twice a week. Now that everything has settled down and everything has returned to normal (if there is such a thing) I can dedicate more time to this. I want to thank each and every one of you for your kind messages and support! I could not do it without you guys!
All the best,
Brett
