Week 30 – A Rest Can do You Good

Hello world! It is has been just a little over a week since I last posted on my blog, but I am now back feeling refreshed and excited about the future. I decided to take a small break from almost everything just so that I could clear my mind, set some new goals, and figure out the direction I wanted to go. Lots has happened since my last diary entry so lets get started.

As you can see from the picture above, my current weight is now 251.6lbs! That means since my last diary entry 2 weeks ago I have lost 4.8lbs! Woot!  Now that excites me so much! I am hoping that by the end of this week I will have said good bye to the 250′s and hello to the 240′s! I have now lost a total of 82lbs since October 24th My BMI is now 33.2 which is down from 44. While I am still considered obese I am inching closer to the next category of overweight, and while that is not ideal, it would have meant that I have come a long way. If I want to hot my goal of 200lbs by the end of the year I need to lose roughly 2lbs per week which is more than possible.

Since my first 5K I have not done any running. I do plan on picking that back up here very soon though. I had started to develop plantar fasciitis, which is a very painful foot problem. After resting for a week the pain seems to have gone away, which I am very excited about. During the past week though I continued to exercise. I have either been working out to DVD’s or I have been putting in 30 minute workout sessions on my exercise bike, but I have not been doing them every day.

I feel great right now after my mini break, although my stress levels are going up pretty quickly. We have brought a house with an acre of land, and will be closing on the deal this Thursday! We are so excited, but it will not give us very much time to move. We will need to be out of our current home by May 28th, so my workouts may be replaced with moving, lol.

I have decided that after we have moved I am going to start the jogging again. My next goal will be to complete a 10k, and then on to a half marathon (depending on how my RSD is doing). I have really come to love jogging and just being outside. I found great satisfaction in being able to meet and exceed goals, while running I found that I had time to just think about things. It gave me the opportunity to have 30 minutes all to myself, and since I stopped I actually realized just how much I miss it.

Thanks to everyone who has supported me this far. I appreciate you all so much and love reading your comments. They all mean so much to me. I had better get busy with packing or this move will not go smoothly! I hope everyone has a fantastic day.

All the best,

Brett

  1. You are doing amazing and congratulations on the new house. I understand the pressure of moving so quick like that. We moved from a house to an apartment last December. Move in day was December 22nd and for some reason Christmas was decided it would be at my house this year. Now I already have a family of 6 and remember I said apartment lol…ugh my sisters family of 5 came over, my dad, my mother in law, and my sister in law. But it turned out great. And we just shoved all the boxes into the rooms, put the Christmas tree up the same day we moved and got all the decorations up. It was chaotic but something we will not soon forget. Good luck on the move and the continued weight loss sorry for the long post lol :)
