The Bobble Bottle – Filtered Water in the Palm of Your Hand – Review

One of the biggest changes I have made in my life since starting my new healthier lifestyle is the amount of water that I drink. I have quickly learned that drinking water is vital is you want to be able to not only lose weight, but keep it off too. Water can do so many wonderful things for your body, but depending on where you live you might not get the greatest tap water around (like here in Oklahoma City). Instead of buying bottled water (I hate what those bottles do the the environment) I decided to find a different solution to the bad tap water problem and my search led me to the Bobble Bottle.

What in the world is a Bobble Bottle?

While at a local store one day, I decided to take a look down the sports aisle. One whole side of this aisle was nothing but water bottles that  exercise enthusiasts could use when they are working out. There were literally hundreds of bottles all different shapes and sizes, but none of them done anything different than the rest of them, after all they would all be filled with the same bad tasting tap water. As I was leaving the aisle something caught my eye.

Tucked away in a corner was a pretty large bottle with a brightly colored pop top. I picked it up and read that this bottle had its own built in filter, and before you know it my affair with the Bobble Bottle began. The packaging that the Bobble Bottle comes in claims that each filter is good for 300 bottles of filtered water. I just knew this was too good to be true and just knew that the price would be high, but to my surprise the price was good, just $12.99 for a 34oz bottle. I got one and could not wait to try it out.

A red Bobble Bottle Filter. Get tired of the red one and you can switch it out for another color.

The bottle itself is fairly straight forward, but it does have a nice shape to it and it feels good in the hand. The makers state that they wanted to make the greenest bottle available  so each bottle is made from recycled PET that is free of BPA, Phthalates and PVC. The bottle is also is 100% recyclable

Enough about the bottle though, the real star of the show here is the filter. When you purchase your Bobble bottle, each bottle comes with one filter. There are lots of different colors available ranging from black, green, blue, yellow, red and orange, so it is easy to find one that matches your style. The filter itself is made from activated carbon, which is incredibly effective when it comes to reducing unpleasant tastes and odors of chlorine and other chemicals found in your city tap water.

The road test

I have to admit I was very skeptical about the Bobble Bottle at first, I really did not think that it would be able to make that much difference to my tap water, but my skepticism quickly went away, and it was replaced with sheer joy.

The very first thing you need to do with your new bobble bottle is clean the filter. The filter is made with carbon and if you do not follow the instructions that tell you to fill the bottle two times and then squirt the water out, you will end up with a mouthful of black carbon.

Once you have taken care of that your Bobble Bottle is good to go. Fill the bottle, screw in the filter and drink water to your hearts content. The filter does an amazing job at blocking out odors and bad tastes from municipal water, i really could not believe that I was not drinking bottled water. The water was clean, clear and crisp with no bad tastes or after tastes.

The water flows easily through the filter, which really surprised me because other experiences I have had with in home filters in the past have been less than great because the water took so long to filter, but not with the Bobble Bottle, just give the bottle a little squeeze and the water flows out.

Filters are readily available at many different stores now, so it will never be a problem finding one. You will find that each filter is good for 40 gallons of filtered water, or 300 bottles of water. This is actually pretty accurate, and you will know when it is time to change because some of bad municipal water tastes will start to creep back in to your water. Each filter costs $6.99 which is not bad seeing as it will get you 300 bottles of water. If you were to buy 300 bottles of name brand water it would cost you $300.

The Bottles curves make it very easy to hold and it feels great in your hands. I have taken my bottle out with me many time when walking and running and have never thought that it was too cumbersome or uncomfortable to hold, even when jogging or running.

My only complaint with the Bobble Bottle is that after little use the bottle does start to get creases in it. I know that is not a big deal, and the manufacturer does state that this will happen if you squeeze too hard, but even without squeezing hard you will still get creases.

Conclusion

There is no doubt in my mind that the Bobble Bottle is the best water bottle on the market today. At just $12.99 it is a bargain, and with each filter costing just $6.99, the savings you can get from buying and using the Bobble Bottle over store brought bottles water is staggering.

Water from the Bobble Bottle tastes great, and the bottle itself looks fantastic. The Bobble Bottle is easy to take with you wherever you go, and because of this it will help you get your daily recommended in take of water. I highly recommend the Bobble Bottle, I know I could not be without mine going forward.

  1. I saw you using this bottle, but was too busy with the kids to ask about it. Glad to hear that it really works. I will have to purchase one – what store did you find it in?

  2. Sounds like a very useful product. I wonder if they have distributors in Australia. I hate buying bottled water and it is always a last resort so these types of products are awesome.

We’re lucky to have great water here in Australia so I can’t complain.

  3. I tried these bottles last year and still have one (I threw one away). The reason I threw one away is because I had to suck or squeeze so hard to get the water out that it gave me headache. I had two different bottles with two different filters and they were both as rubbish as each other. Each cost me £10. In the end I reverted to making filtered water at home with my Britta jug and filling a plastic bottle. During or after exercise I just wanted to drink more water than a sip, which is what these deliver.
