Hello world! It is has been just a little over a week since I last posted on my blog, but I am now back feeling refreshed and excited about the future. I decided to take a small break from almost everything just so that I could clear my mind, set some new goals, and figure out the direction I wanted to go. Lots has happened since my last diary entry so lets get started. Continue reading
Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon 5K – The Big Day
The day finally arrived, the day of my first big race. I was so excited last night that I could barely sleep. I was both excited and nervous, I just could not wait to take my place on the starting line! We had massive storms the night before, and the forecast for the race was not much better, but fortunately the weather held off and the weather was just about as perfect as could be for the event. Would my nine weeks of training pay off? Lets take a look. Continue reading
Gearing Up For Race Day
The race is almost here! I cannot believe it. I am so excited I can barely stand it. Tomorrow is going to be a big day for me. I know it is just a 5K, but it represents so much to me. Yesterday I finally got my bib number and official Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon t-shirt from the expo in downtown OKC. Now it finally feels real. Continue reading
C25K Challenge – Week 9 Day 1
What a difference a day an a half of resting can make. After my run on Saturday I was in serious pain. My RSD had flared up, and my back was super sore. I spent the rest of Saturday and Sunday not wanting to move or do anything, I even questioned whether or not I should continue down this path. The RSD showed that when it wants to be in control, it can be with no notice, but the whole reason I started this was so that I could show myself that I can be in control. When I left the house this morning to start week 9 day 1 I felt much better, but in the back of my mind was worry that the RSD would come out fighting again. While my feet hurt towards the end, I managed to complete the first day of week 9 with barely a hitch. Runkeeper stats after the break. Continue reading
C25K Challenge – Week 8 Day 3
Ugh, what am I like! Late again with my updates, oh well on wards and upwards. This past Saturday I completed Week 8 Day 3 of my C25K challenge. The weekend was a little rough to be honest. My RSD was flaring and my back was sore, but I decided that I would push on and get this day taken care of (which turned out to be a mistake later on). Keep on reading to see Runkeeper stats. Week 28 – A New Beginning
Yay, another week has passed, and another pound has been lost. My weight loss has slowed significantly in recent weeks, but that is okay. I am happy that I am still losing a little here and there. Eventually I will get down to my goal weight of 200lbs. Last week was another crazy week. Things started out great, and then got stressful towards the end of it, what with my date in court, but all has worked out well, and I can now close that chapter of my life and move on. Lets take a look at what the scales said this morning. Continue reading

All the best,

Clif Shot Energy Gels – Review
Clif, the makers of Clif Bars, Clif Kids and Luna Bars, were generous enough to send me some samples of their new, reformulated Clif Shot Energy Gels. I am a huge fan of their Clif Builder Bars and I have both used them, and reviewed them here on the blog. They are honestly part of the reason why I have been able to lose so much weight. They are a great meal replacement option and offer users a great way to boost their protein intake. Since I have started running I have been interested in energy gels. Even though I do not run grea t distances, I did not think it would hurt to at least give them a try. Read on to find out about the Clif Shot Energy Gels. Continue reading
