My Heart is Still So Heavy

home

Things have a been crazy (and that is putting it very mildly) around here lately. As you guys know, I live in Bridge Creek, Oklahoma, just 15 miles south west of Moore, OK. May 20th will be a day I will never forget. The devastating tornado that went on to destroy my old home town of Moore formed just 3 miles from my house. As my kids and I were running to the storm shelter you could see the clouds rotating right above our heads. I am just so thankful that we were spared that day, but I am so sad that so many of my fellow Oklahoman’s lost their lives or loved ones, not to mention all of their possessions on that day. Read on past the break. Continue reading

My Weight Loss Story on Sparkpeople.com

Brett Day_After 1G

I am so excited! Today the most free, and most spectacular weight loss website, sparkpeople.com shared and featured my weight loss story on the front page of their website today. As you all know, I have been using sparkepople and their amazing tools since day one of my weight loss journey, and I truly believe that I would not have been able to lose the weight if it was not for the support, encouragement and inspiration that this website gave to me, and give me on a daily basis.

I am truly blessed. Please take a look at the story that Sparkepople shared.  I will have another update later on today about the AWESOME 5k that my wife and I participated in this weekend. It was a blast and we had so much fun, but for now, please head on over the the article on Sparkpeople :)

Hope everyone had an amazing weekend.

Regards,

Brett Day

Coffee….What Does it Say About You?

Mmmmmm, coffee. I love the stuff, and it is one thing that I refuse to give up. Coffee can actually fit in with a healthy lifestyle if you drink it in moderation (I drink one cup per day and adjust my water in take accordingly). So if you like coffee, what type do you like, and does the personal description next to your drink describe you accurately? So just for fun, head on past the break and look at the chart and see what your coffee drink says about you. Me…i love Macchiato’s and the description is on the money!

It’s Time to Catch Up – Comparison Pics and Much More

weighing-scales

Well, it has been roughly 4 months since I last posted anything to my blog that showed what is going on in my life. Things have been a little hectic. I enrolled in school and the workload prevented me from really paying much attention to the blog, but things have changed here lately and I am back, and I am ready to get the ball rolling again with the blog. So much has changed since January. Head on past the break to see what has been going on in the world of Brett. Continue reading

Organic Food….It’s What’s For Dinner

gmoThis graphic really sums up just how you cannot afford to eat unhealthy foods. For far too long, the general public has been told or taught that eating healthy, nutritious food is just too expensive, when in fact it is far cheaper to eat a healthy balanced diet. Not only will you save money now with the upfront cost, but also later on down the line when you do not have to spend thousands of dollars to treat diabetes, heart disease and other obesity related illnesses.  Make the smart choice and ditch the junk.

It’s Not Genetics

58096_10151435243861699_1240342161_nThree of America’s biggest killers are listed on this ecard, and they are all preventable. Walking, jogging, and running along with a healthy eating plan are perfect ways to reverse the damaging effects of these conditions, or even prevent them all together. As always though, you should always seek the advice of a medical professional before embarking on a new fitness routine.

Time To Bring the Blog Back

Hi everyone!

I really cannot believe just how long it has been since I last posted on my blog. Back in January when I started school I had every intention to post on a daily basis, but the amount of studying and school work really interfered with those plans.

Things have changed slightly since my last post, but I am still on track to become a certified personal trainer (in fact it should happen much sooner now), and I am still losing weight (down to 197lbs now). The school thing kind of fell through due to some shady happenings behind the scenes, but I am now studying at home, and am on track to be certified through ACE within the next 4 months. I have plans in place to start my own business, and also further my education as well. I of course am also planning to keep this blog updated too :)

I will make another blog post tomorrow, and will go in to more details about all that has happened in the last 4 months, and will post comparison pics, and potential give aways (those are always fun). Until then, I hope you all have a great evening, and I will speak with you all soon.

Regards,
Brett
